This decadent condiment recipe is sure to please every chocolate lover in your life.


  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 ½ cup water
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder (all natural, non-sweetened. Avoid using “hot chocolate” mixes as they may contain lots of sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup raw cane sugar OR 3 tablespoons agave syrup


  1. Place all ingredients in a pot over medium heat and whisk until cocoa and sugar dissolve completely
  2. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until liquid has reduced and thickened. Make sure to stir in between so it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot. Remove from heat and cool completely
  3. As it cools down whisk the mix to break off the skin that forms on the top, once completely cool, place in a jar with a lid and refrigerate. It’ll last about a week.


To flavour pop: add ¼ cup of the syrup for every 2 cups of club soda (or water if you prefer it still). You can adjust the ratio depending on how strong you like the flavour.
