Make It in A Mug: Try Whipping Up This Quick Peach Cobbler

Peaches are one of the best summer fruits around if you ask us and seeing as it’s officially Peach Month, it’s time to truly show love for our fuzzy skinned friends.

There are lots of ways to celebrate Peach Month—with your morning oatmeal, in your water or even on the grill. Of course, peach pie and cobbler are both great too, but they tend to take a while to make. Luckily, we’ve got a solution. Make it in a mug! Even if you have zero baking or pastry experience, you pretty much can’t mess up peach cobbler in a mug. It’s a no fail approach. Plus, you can make just enough to satisfy, without having to eat a whole pie yourself. (We’ve all been there…)

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 peach
  • Whip cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)

Method:

  1. Start by taking a tablespoon of butter and plop it into your mug. If you have microwave safe glass mugs, they make for a pretty final product because you can see the layers of your dessert.
  2. Microwave the butter for 20 seconds, until its melted and soft. Then mix in each of the following: sugar (we like brown sugar for this recipe), milk and flour. Then add in the baking powder.
  3. Finish off with a little shake of cinnamon and stir it all together. Peel and slice a peach and place right on top of the mixture (don’t mix again)
  4. Put the mug back in the microwave and heat for 2 minutes on medium power. Then, once the microwave dings your desert is ready! It will be hot so let it cool and serve with some whip cream. Or, use the help of some cold vanilla ice cream on top to speed up the process. Yum.
