How to Make the Perfect Breakfast for Mom
There’s no better gift for a busy mom than a little extra sleep, so why not surprise her with a leisurely breakfast in bed? Here’s everything you’ll need to “wow” her this Sunday:
What are you serving?
The main event: Our Steel-Cut Oatmeal is the perfect main to balance out all your hard work. Not only is it ready in 5 minutes, but it’s also balanced with a scoop of fiber-rich quinoa with an extra-flavorful punch of peaches, apples, pineapples, and cranberries.
A protein boost: Hard-boiled eggs are full of good, heart-healthy fats, vitamins and minerals, plus they don’t take up too much time or room on your awesome display tray.
A delightful sip: A steaming cup of coffee or tea and a fresh-pressed green juice from your local juicery is sure to impress her. Add a few frozen blueberries or raspberries for some extra color and lasting chill-factor while she dives into her other treats.
Finishing touches
Tray: Find a killer tray to display all of your hard work. If you’re going the DIY route, whip up a bento box using an old container or the lid of a vintage suitcase.
Cutlery and dishware: Grab a couple select pieces of grandma’s china and pull out the silver. Remember: even burnt toast can look good on the right serving dish!
Flowers: Keep it simple and in season! I know you love her but there’s nothing worse than pollen in her coffee or on her thousand-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets. Two or three sprigs of her favorite wild flower in a clear jar will do the trick.
Card: Handmade and from the heart is best. If you’re not feeling too artistic, grab some old magazines and cut pictures out of her favorite things to decorate a piece of card stock. Don’t forget a hand-written note reminding her how much you love her.
This Mother’s Day, a thoughtfully-prepared breakfast sprinkled with some extra love is sure to let your mom know just how special she is to you.
